Paintings with a Purpose Holiday Toy Drive
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Savanna's dream to help change the world through giving continued to spread at the Paintings with a Purpose Holiday Toy Drive.
The Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center and State Museum hosted the drive and - boy! - did they set the scene! There were beautiful Christmas trees, amazing decorations, and holiday music that put everyone in the spirit. The event, created by Savanna herself, benefited Toys For Tots and Ellis Care Community Outreach and aimed to make sure children in her community of South Kansas City would receive gifts for Christmas. Guests who came out with their donation of new, unwrapped toys were treated to an unveiling of Savanna's permanent exhibit located in the Children's Gallery of the museum. Guests also received personalized tours from Savanna and a first look at her latest artwork.
The festivities were made sweet with laughs, smiles, and lots of pictures. Connections were made as guest enjoyed cookies and shared personal stories and testimonies.
The drive was a success as we filled up one whole Toys For Tots box with new goodies for local kids. Savanna also sold five of her paintings that - along with a few monetary donations - brought in $345 to the purchase more toys for the children. What an amazing day! And it wouldn't be possible with you. A big thank you goes to everyone involved for your unbelievable support of Angel Hands Art and for helping us make Savanna's dream to change the world one piece of art at a time a reality. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
